Coming Over the TopSorry for not giving any updates lately I have been very busy training, moving into a new house, and working at a new job.

Some quick highlights: After the Break

Coming Over the Top
Rock at the Dock in Mooresville on 06/12/2010, I fought Shane Crenshaw. I won this fight via Split Decision.  This was my first fight outside and it was defiantly a learning experience.   I was tired before I even got to the ring it was so hot.  The cage was drenched causing grip to be virtually gone.  The match itself was a typical wrestling match.  He took a shot I sprawled.  Stand up wise it was a lot of slow power punches.  I honestly do not understand how the refs ruled any rounds in his favor but it is my fault for not finishing the fight.

I was promised a title shot for taking and winning the Rock at the Dock match.  That match materialized on 7/16/2010 under the lights at the Epicentre in Charlotte.  My opponent was Kevin Forant.  I had fought Kevin my second MMA match and ended up losing that match.  I was determined to not let the same happen again.  During the match, my stand up was working quite well.  My stepping jab was causing quite a bit of damage, knocking him back every time I threw it.  I felt I was dominating the stand up game, and when I took a shot I was able to secure the take down and control him on the ground using ground and pound for the entire 5 rounds.  I walked out of the match with a Unanimous Decision 49-46, 48-47, 48-47.

After the fight I have once again changed up my training camp.  I am training with Crossface/TeamOne and Team ROC.  I feel this is helping get my cardio up to par, as well as pushing me to new limits.

My next fight has been set. 9/18/2010 in Charlotte vs Amos Collins.  Amos is the current Carolina Fight Promotions Lightweight 155lb Champion.  I am very excited about this match.  Amos is considered one of the top 3 Light Weights in the State, and I feel I match up against him very well.  The other thing I am excited about for this fight is it will be a charity fight.  All proceeds will go to supporting the troops.

I am in talks with fighting for The Rock at the Dock 2 on 9/25/2010 for their Lightweight Title.  Once a contract has been signed I will let you know.

Training hard, and trying to get to the next level.
